Ryan Coonan
Ryan Coonan; born June 3, 1976 is an Australian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He began his career after years of film studies in 2007 wtih his self written, directed and produced film: NUMURKAH (2008). An 'end of days' comedy horror which tells the story of a rural country town being overtaken by zombies.
Connan was born in regional Victoria, he grew up in Numurkah which has engrained a sense of humor in him as dry as the climate. He later moved to Melbourne and studied film in college. After directing his first film, further self-written productions gave the opportunity to develop his craft. SKELETONS (2011) a comedy thriller about a couple that advertise for a new housemate, what they get is a little more than they bargained for, received rave reviews for it's witty, quirky concept.
Most acclaimed being WATERBORNE (2014) about a local ranger in a small country town who finds an unidentified algae overwhelming the town's water supply, the result, zombie kangaroos. After receiving multiple awards from festivals worldwide, this film was praised for its ingenuity, face-paced comedy thriller stylings.
